Governmental Affairs Committee

The Governmental Affairs Committee has gone through several changes. This restructuring allows for a greater number of individuals to be involved and to provide the needed people power to tackle the tasks at hand. The committee works with the appropriate resources to maximize our voice and presence with respective government and business agencies. This group has the responsibility to work with the appropriate individuals and groups that look after our interests in the State Legislature and to address issues that affect the practice of athletic trainers in Tennessee.

Reimbursement Task Force

In addition, an important part of this committee is the Reimbursement Task Force. This subcommittee has already begun to accumulate critical data and information needed to meet the requirements of reimbursement decisions and the implementation of new CPT codes for athletic training services. This group is also charged with educating and challenging the insurance industry to bring our profession in line with other allied healthcare providers.
