With the updates to the bylaws that were approved in July, a new President Elect position was created. The intent of this 1-year position is to provide a structured leadership transition and understudy period to allow the President-Elect to gain familiarity with society governance, operations, and strategic direction prior to assuming the Presidency.
The President-Elect term will generally be 12-months in length and voting will occur with our typical executive board elections in May. However, due to the timing of the approval of the bylaws in July, a special election is being held to fill this first President-Elect position.
Nominations will be received August 1st through August 15th and elections will occur September 1st through September 15th. The President-Elect candidate that is selected will begin their role at the Executive Board meeting on October 11th.
